To bad I can't enter. :(
But before we get to the give away - let's find out a bit more about Heather and Heavenly Soaps.
How did you decide on your shops name?
We wanted something elegant but simple. After using my own soaps for a while, which feel like washing with silk, I decided they are just heavenly. Therefore, we named our store, Heavenly Soaps!
When did you start making soap and why? What is your favorite scent?
Is there a scent you don't like?
I had moved from Pennsylvania to a very small town here in Kansas with my fiance. I have always been attracted to the simple things in life. As silly as it sounds, I wish I could have been born in the good old days where everyone made their own clothes and soap. With a lot of time on my hands here in the country, I started researching and making my own soap. My favorite scent is anything sweet smelling, vanilla especially. I came across a scent of forest pine once, rubbed me the wrong way..lol.
Are there other crafts you would like to try?
My fiance and I also dabble in the art of pyrography. Pyrography is the art of burning images and designs onto wood with a metal pyrography pen. I'm also working on making string puppets. In my free time, I like to do charcoal drawings.
What or who inspires you?
My mom inspires me, basically because she is just like me, just a lot older and wiser. Through the years I am beginning to see herself in me and I would like nothing better to be just like my mom, she is a great role model.
Do you have a day job?
I work for the United States Postal Service as a PMR. Its something to pay the bills, but my true love is arts and crafts. I hope to one day have quite a few projects going and to be a successful business woman.
What is the item in your shop you enjoyed making the most and why?
I'd have to say the soap I love to make the most is beer soap. Simply because of the look of excitement in my fiance's face when we make it. I don't think he's yet to get over the fact that you can make soap out of beer and it lathers better than anything!!
Now for the Give Away!!
Heather is offering 3 BARS of her Goat Milk Soap with Cocoa Butter and Tea Tree Oil as the Give Away Prize!! Goats milk has similar Ph levels to our own skin, making it a super moisturizing and non drying treat for your skin. Cocoa butter is added to make an ultra conditioning bar that provides a rich, creamy texture and lather. Tea tree oil is also added to help with dry skin. We add olive, safflower, sweet almond and rose hip oil as the nutrient rich moisturizing factor of the soap. All of these oils are easily absorbed and softens the feel of your skin. You'll notice the difference as soon as you step out of the shower.
Here are the Rules to enter the Give Away:

I adore soaps :)
I love them all! I am a handcrafted soap addict as well. My only problem is, that they are usually so pretty that I don't want to use them! I keep them sitting around in the bathroom for show. I guess my favorite from her shop would be the Beer Soap, as I have never heard of it before!

ReplyDeleteI would have gone with the Lavender, but I'm not such a fan of poppy seed. I think it's some sort of psychological block from eating poppy seed coffee cake when I was a kid. So, my next choice would be the Mocha Java Coffee Soap. Millstone's Mocha Java was the first "fancy" coffee I ever tried. I can't find it here in Oklahoma.

Beautiful soaps, the prize sounds like the ideal one to use but I just love the look of Lavender Flowers. Great photography too, makes the soaps look almost edible. Thanks for posting this!
