We have a couple of shallow ditches across part of our lawn that are totally full of water!
There is water between the line of trees too. Even during spring with all the snow melting we don't have water between the trees!!
There are puddles in my grass! We should have mowed the grass on Saturday, but with all the rain it's been impossible. I can't imagine how long it will be by the time it dries enough to mow!
The plans for this weekend were to plant the garden. Not happening! It drains really well, but we tilled it in fall so if I was to go into it now - I'd probably sink 1/2 way to my knees. The water in the background is on the neighbors field. Bet he's glad he hadn't seeded it yet!
The creek is up again. Not on the yard yet, hopefully it won't be either. I have 5 pick-ups with the school bus on the other side of the creek. If it crosses the road just north of my house - it's a 15 minute drive to my first pick-up instead of a 3 minute drive. Really starts to make the day long.
I can hardly wait to see some sunshine!! It's amazing how people's attitudes towards everything change when there have been 7 days of clouds and rain in a row. Would be nice to see everyone smiling again :)
Sunny weather is more cheerful when it's not roasting hot!
ReplyDeleteJust look on the bright side of all that rain, no restrictions due to lack of water this summer! (at least that's what I'm doing!)
UGH ! We had this a few weeks ago then two days later high wind and brush fire alerts because it was too dry ! That much rain is almost as bad as snow !
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. Last spring was like that for us. But at least you haven't flooded like Nashville, TN. So sad for them...
ReplyDeleteI sympathize living in Louisiana, it rains here a lot, can get to a person. Hope the sun comes out for you today and it starts drying up so you can plant your garden!
ReplyDeleteEeeep! Don't send any of that this way :p
ReplyDeleteI agree! Bring on the sun!! We are suppose to have some sunshine headed our way too! I will send it to you when it arrives! :) Have a good one!
ReplyDeletea lot of rain does tend to be a downer. Hope you get some sunshine soon and start to dry out. I get flooding in my back yard when we get a lot of rain and it's always a mess.
ReplyDeleteYou really do have some standing water out your way! It's so green and lush though...that's the positive side!
