What do you do?

This is how I feel about blogging lately. Seem to be in a slump. What do you do when this happens to you? Does it happen?

  1. I either have a break, or have some sort of post where your readers can comment their opinions. *shrugs* I don't know what I'll be doing for next 2 months, I'm expecting to lose at least 5-10 followers... :'(

  2. That's when I simply throw up a recipe or a cute pic with no real caption. A long interesting quote often works well then, too. (I keep a list of a few of those.) Sometimes, yo just need to step back and skip a day.
    Wishing you lots of inspiration!!!

  3. That's when I step away from the blog until I feel it again. I hope it passes quickly for you!

  4. If I didn't have a set bologging schedule, I would have stopped blogging already!

Some days it's even hard then. I just post something. There are 2 days that I don't feel obligated to blog. That is Thursday and Saturday. It's working for me.

  5. I had a bit of a blogging schedule as well and it mostly works for me. There are sometimes that I feel at a loss of what to write too and so I just skip the day and try not to worry about it. I haven't tried it but maybe asking your readers if they have any questions/things they'd to to hear more about? I'd love to hear more about how you have grown your readership and any tips/tricks that you have as well as how you prepare for the holiday season?

  6. Honestly, I think the summer always brings a bit of a blog reading slump. I think people are busy soaking up the sun, contending with kids who are out of school or on vacation. I've felt a slow down over the summer, but I figure things will pick up as the temperature cools and people are cooped up in the house!

Honestly, I just keep plugging along. Some days the posts are a hit and some day they are misses. I say do what you do and the readers will come!

  7. Definitely, and when it happens I will usually head out and find something to take pictures of even if I have to force myself. Gives me something "cheap and easy" to write about while I think about more in depth stuff.

  8. Audrey, I have felt 'blogged out' for the last couple of months. I've been finding new blogs to read to get new ideas and inspiration. But I still don't feel inspired to come up with a new blog post everyday. I think it's ok to take some time off and do like another commenter said....just post a picutre or a quote or a fabulous Etsy find now and then. Hang in there!!! :)

  9. Happens all the time. I try to keep a weeks worth of posts ready so that when I have a dry spell I have one to use. If I can't think of anything I usually go through my picture files and see if anything comes to me. Another blogger sent me an email after my pretty please post and suggested that I do blog reviews of my favorites. I might just try that idea out.

  10. I've been trying to get through those times as best as I can, and as of late I've been trying to get blog entries done and scheduled on the days that I have off and I'm sort of inspired!

  11. It happens to me all the time and I don't have any advice. Just stopping by to let you know I understand how it is and hope you get back to blogging soon. I really enjoy reading what you have to say.
