Teaser Tuesday - Rules of Deception

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teaser for the Week:

"It's none of your business. Leave it. It can only go badly for you. Philip Palumbo mulled over thewords, then leaned across the front seat of his car and removed his service sidearm from the glove compartment. It was because nobody took a stand that the world was in such sorry shape."

This is the first book I'm reading by this author. It took a little while to get into. The beginning few chapters are 3 different stories, hopefully they all come together eventually :) It's good though. This is the first book in a series, will definitely be getting the next one.

What are you reading today?

    Here's mine:

"Ishmael's eyes closed gently in an indulgent smile. "Belief is not required. Once you know this story, you'll hear it everywhere in your culture, and you'll be astonished that the people around you don't hear it as well but merely take it in.""

  13. The riddle posed by the cover catches my eye: a lovely blue butterfly on a Swiss flag? The author is unknown to me but based on your teaser and the cover I will look this one up. Also, thank you for visiting my Tuesday Teaser :-)

  16. Sometimes I have a hard time getting into books that have multiple story lines at the beginning too. It sounds like it could be really good though!

This week, I am reading Crafts and Craft Shows: How to Make Money by Phillip Kadubec. It's SO informative! Here's a teaser-

"One technique that some craftspeople use to protect the design of their product is to mail themselves a certified letter marked 'return receipt requested,' describing the product and enclosing a picture of it. The letter may also include a description of how the product is produced and what materials are used." (pg. 46)

  18. Oh, very clever! I'm glad that isn't the case for this world, as I view it, which doesn't seem to be in sorry shape yet - which is a good thing. :) Sounds intense!

Thanks for stopping by and reading my teaser today!

  19. Great teaser! I have a book by this author but haven't read it yet. Sounds like my kind of read too.

You have a nice blog! I like the photos of the parade in your home town. I've been to Manitoba only during a stopover and so was just there for a few hours. What I did manage to see was quite pretty though.
