Cypress Sun Jewelry

Here is a really wonderful original jewelry shop on Etsy!! There are so many beautiful necklaces, earring and bracelets - it's hard to choose a favorite :)

Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.
I'm from Austin, and have been in central Texas most of my life. I've tried to leave several times but the river keeps pulling me back.

*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business?
Again, the river. The incredible cypress trees that line the banks take my breath away. Add sunlight on the river - and you have my version of heaven.

I started a small business because friends were buying necklaces off my neck, and I wanted to legitimize this journey. It's a surprising dream come true!

*Do you have a blog?
cypresssun.blogspot.com

*When did you start making jewelry?
Somewhere around the age of 7. I would beg my grandmothers for random gems from their jewelry boxes, and "make them better" with various chains, shells, whatever. I wish I had pictures as I'm sure they were hilarious creations. I always mixed and matched my own jewelry, but never knew I could actually design something from the beginning. It was a different time, with no bead stores in sight. If I'd been born 15 years later, I probably would have become a jewelry designer - and never looked back.

*Where do you get your ideas from? what inspires you?
sunlight and shadows in nature. river reflections. imagining a certain person wearing a necklace to a specific occasion...

*What would you love to add to your crafting space?
space! My crafting space is in my bedroom. separation. So much of my bead table is accessible to my toddler if I turn my back for one second!

*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
labradorite and kyanite gemstones. Czech glass beads.

*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
right now, it's the asymmetrical zen necklaces. I love how they flow out of me. I've made several that haven't made it to etsy because they sell before I can get them there.
