*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m from Italy, from Tuscany’s country . A bit about my self? Well, my name’s Silvia and I was born and I live on a mountain near Pistoia (is a little Tuscany city near Florence). I live with my daughter, who’s name is Noemi, she’s 21 years old, one dog called Geremia and a black cat called Ville Valo ^_^ .When i was a very young girl my granny and my mum taught me knit, crochet and embroidery and so, i can teacher these techniques to my daughter.
now, I’m creating my handmade accessories in a table in front of a large window, where i can often see the forest and my mountains.. but in a near future I’ll like to have a more larger room like this mine ^_^
*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business?
I have decide the name of my shop because “Verity” is the name of a character in a book that I really like and “Un mondo a parte” (it means"a world apart") because when I think of my creativity I think of a different world from what it is my day job (I am employed full time). I start my business because I had no more space in my home for things done and I like to showcase the things I do to other handmade lovers. I hope to have, in a future, an off line shop in my mountains *_*
*What types of items do you have? Do you have something new you will be adding?
In my shop I have more soft items (I love softness *_*) like sweet organizer, warm scarf an.d scrubbies eco friendly… I like to have more different items in my shop, made by more different techniques and so I don’t know what I’ll add in my shop in the future, it’s a surprise ^_^
*What would you love to add to your crafting space?
I love add more space in my crafting room
*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
In the winter I love wool yarn, but when the season is warmer I prefer cotton fabrics
*Do you have a blog?
Yes, I have this blog:
http://verity-unmondoaparte.blogspot.com
You can also find her here:
twitter: verityumap facebook: verityunmondoaparte
*What/Who inspires you?
sunflower, Tuscany cypress, good wine and more beautiful places...these are the things that inspire me and my creation
*What is your favorite on-line shop?
my fav shop is: http://www.etsy.com/shop/celestefrittata
*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
I love to do the organizers, especially this:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29671577
I love doing my organizers because i start to make its from a single piece of fabrics and I add small squares of other fabrics, prints, yarn or embroidery, so when I start one of my organizer I dont know how it’ll come out from my hands ^ _ ^
