*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m originally from New Jersey, but I’ve lived in California (twice), Florida (twice), Kentucky, and New York State. I currently have my art studio in Ithaca, NY, which is in the beautiful Finger Lakes region.
*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business?
When I built my first website 12 years ago, I knew I couldn’t name it LynneTaetzsch.com or no one would ever find it. I settled for Art By LT or ARTBYLT.COM.
*What or who inspires you?
I am emotionally inspired by everything that happens in my life, the good, the bad and the ugly. Visually I am inspired by the natural world and the changes that develop through all seasons.
I’ve been making some kind of art or craft since I was a kid, but in my early twenties when I was at Cooper Union art school in New York City, I fell in love with the abstract expressionists. I’ve been painting abstract art ever since, first in oils and now in acrylics.
*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
When people walk into my studio, they always go gaga over my shelving unit filled with acrylic paint tubes, all lined up in order by color. When I’m in the middle of a painting, I don’t want to run out of the color I need at that moment, so I always keep a good stock of paints.
*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
I have abstract drawings as well as giclee prints of my paintings available on my Etsy shop. The drawings are a lot of fun to do because I know it won’t matter if I mess one up. That allows me to be freer than I might be when I paint. But I’m pretty loose most of the time when I’m making art.
*Are there other places on the net we can find you?
You can find my complete portfolio of works available on my website at http://www.ARTBYLT.COM. I also have an art blog at http://www.abstract-art-blog.net/ and can be found on Facebook as well: http://www.facebook.com/pages/ARTBYLT/82866465808?v=wall&viewas=716422662.
