Was going to do "Procrastinate" - I'm already good at that so it would be an easy one to stick too :) Probably not the best word.
Then I thought of "Original" - but I'm that already too - so that doesn't work :) lol
In a comment on one of my previous posts about Christmas, someone suggested a few words:
Confidence,
Hope,
Love,
Perseverance
All really good words, but not quite what I'm looking for either. But finally late last night it came to me!!
PRIORITIZE
pri·or·i·tize
[prahy-awr-i-tahyz, -or-]
verb, -tized, -tiz·ing.
–verb (used with object)
1. to arrange or do in order of priority: learning to prioritize our assignments.
2. to give a high priority to.
–verb (used without object)
3. to organize or deal with something according to its priority.
Since opening my Etsy shop in September, I've been having some trouble prioritizing my work load. Would love to spend all day on the computer blogging, listing products, promoting and chatting, however there is still cooking, cleaning, laundry, school bus, etc. So this year I will work on getting all the "must do" things on my list done first, then do the crafting, blogging, listing etc. Oh - and also spend time with hubby :) See what I mean?!!
Great word for the year! I'm still thinking and haven't come up with one yet. I can think of negative words that describe the habits I want to change, but haven't come up with a positive one that fits yet.

great word! I started to think of my word for 2011 in October! Actually that's when the word "Courage" first came to me... I read it in a poem an I thought "that should be my word". Maybe I'll blog about that this week sometime.
ReplyDeleteWe all need that word! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to keep everything going. I need to do laundry and have known this for 3 days. Did I do it yet? Nope!
So this afternoon, after church a hospital visit and grocery shopping, I am going to start the laundry before turning my computer back on!
Have a wonderful day Audrey!
<><
I also need to turn off my computer and take some photos, or maybe a nap. Naps are a priority, right?
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. I have a hard time prioritizing myself. There's just so many things on the list to do and not enough hours in the day.
ReplyDeleteYour Word of the Year choice is most excellent! Remember to count yourself as a priority.
ReplyDeleteThat is great that you do a word for the year, I like the idea, and priority is a great one, I make lists of the stuff I need to get done and try and balance it all, but its not easy.
