Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My teaser this week:
"Hitchhiking usually carried with it the promise of random personal encounters and conversations made more intense by the certainty that their durations would necessarily be limited. Not this time"
page 326, "Nothing to Lose" by Lee Child
This is the first book I have read from this author. So far it's really good, and keeps me wanting to read more :) This is a series about a man who is walking across the US and all the "trouble he finds". The book isn't the first in the series, but it doesn't seem to matter. Will be looking for more books by Lee Child after this one!
UPDATE:
I got this post all ready Monday morning, but ended up finishing the book in the evening - just couldn't put it down :) Off to the library this afternoon to get another Lee Child's book!!

This is a great idea. Here's mine!
ReplyDelete"And the men of Israel, laden with the first fruits of field and orchard and vineyard, gathered at the tabernacle, there was made a public acknowledgement of God's goodness. When the priest accepted the gift, the offerer, speaking as in the presence of Jehovah, said, 'A Syrian ready to perish was my father,' and he described the sojourn in Egypt and the affliction from which God had delivered Israel 'with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders.'"
A very long two sentences! But truly a great read :)
Glad you enjoyed Jack Reacher. I discovered Jack in book 3 and went back and started with book 1.
ReplyDeleteThe name Lee Child rings a bell, but I can't recall the title of the book. Your teaser is fitting, and I might have to do a little research on Lee Child before I go adding to Mt. TBR.
ReplyDeleteThis author does sound familiar, but I'm pretty sure I haven't read anything by her (him?).
ReplyDeleteBut any book you can't put down is a fine recommendation!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Good teaser. I'm glad you enjoyed the book and read it so quickly. I don't think I am familiar with this author, but will have to look into him. Thanks for visiting my TT!
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser. Sounds like an interesting book. I have two more teasers this week at The Crowded Leaf.
ReplyDelete"Luke smiled wryly. "Now, all you have to do is to convince your son a mirable has happened, eh?" he said.
ReplyDeleteThey turned together to the bed and found Ditus watching them, his eyes lucid and aware."
That's my teaser :-)
Thank you for stopping by! I finally finished the weddings. The soap is curing - the brides are singing (at least I think that's what that noise is ;-)
ReplyDeleteHope you're well!

I've starred your selection this week,Audrey. Just love the idea of a book's character being on both a physical and spiritual journey--exploring both the world and self. One of my favorites of this type is Alice Steinbach's Without Reservations .
ReplyDeleteThanks for regularly checking out my TT these past few weeks. I'm meeting some great readers who blog and steadily building my TBR list.
I'm glad you really liked this one. The teaser was great. I've heard of the author but haven't read any of the books. I like the idea that you didn't have to start at the beginning of the series to enjoy it. I'm keeping an eye out for this one.
ReplyDelete"Not this time...". What is he/she planning to do this time??? Great teaser, am really intrigued. Hope you enjoy reading the book.
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! I'll have to add Lee Child to my list of authors to try. I love a good "can't put it down" book. I hope you were able to find more.
ReplyDeleteWow you'r a quick reader!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your teaser muchly :)
A former student of mine lent me a copy of a Lee Childs novel. It was very intriguing. I am glad you enjoyed this one. I may check it out myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks
I've never read Lee Childs either, looks like I need to pick one up! Thanks for visiting my TT.
