About 23 years ago I spent one year in The Netherlands, through a Mennonite (not the dress wearing, head covering or buggy driving kind) Youth Work Exchange program. It was on of the best years I'd spent doing anything! The first 6 months I worked for a company that grew & shipped flower bulbs worldwide. I saw flowers I'd never heard of and lots of Tulips :) On weekends I got to see quite a bit of the country & meet many wonderful people. The Netherlands has some of the nicest people!
One of my favorite places to see was Keukenhof in spring when all the flowers were blooming. Keukenhof is like a huge 80 acre park full of every kind of tulip & many many other flowers. It's truly a beautiful place to see! Here are some photo's taken from their site. These are all photo's that people have taken on a tour of Keukenhof then Uploaded to the site.
I wish my yard looked like this - until I realize how much work it would be :)

ReplyDeleteOh, how beautiful! I love tulips, but live too far south for them. I just can't bring myself to replant bulbs every year.
ReplyDeleteTruely beautiful, and such vibrant colors! I really love the one with the sea of purple in it.

I like any garden with spring bulbs in it. The cool blue hyacith with the edging of orange and yellow tulips is a very dramatic planting! Thanks for the inspiring photos.
