Today is hubby's (Brad) Birthday!! He is now 45 years young (I have to say that 'cause I'm actually a bit older)! While in town this morning I bought a cake at the local Bakery and some chocolates.
Had them write just "Happy Birthday", wasn't sure if I should do "Happy Birthday Sweetie" or "Happy Birthday Brad" or "Happy Birthday Dad" - too many choices. Birthdays aren't much of a celebration here, well except for the boys. But they are still young enough to be excited about birthdays. Once you're over 40 - who cares? Right? (I'm still trying to convince myself that I'm 25 not 40 something!!).
Brad got to have a lazy day at home, which is nice. Who wants to work hard on their B-day. I think summer B-day's are easier, there are more options for things to do (like riding ATV's & Camping!) It was too cold today for Brad to take out his New Toy (links to that post).
How do you celebrate your birthday? Or your hubby's birthday?

Today is my fiance's birthday too! Weird. He has to spend it in court for a traffic ticket though. Haha. My sister just married a guy who has the same birthday as me and we always spend it all together, last year we went bowling, it was so much fun! This year I get to pick and its going to be after hours Paint Your Own Pottery. They do this thing that you can reserve time there and bring wine. I think it'll be fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your hubby. Beautiful cake. My B'day was on the 3rd and my hubby, who never buys cards or gifts, bought me the most beautiful card and a box of chocolates...made me cry.
ReplyDeleteHappy B-day to your hubby. I knwo what you mean about summer B-days.. wish we had them lol. Instead my oldest son and I are in October and youngest son and dad are in January. We got screwed! Although a trip to the waterpark is always nice in winter! that's what we did last year.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Brad! 45 is a wonderful age. Wish I was still 45. Birthdays are low key here as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your hubby! What a great gift :) We celebrate our birthdays with an ice cream cake and always a picture with it and dinner of our choice... Carla
ReplyDeleteI think summer birthdays are a lot easier! My birthday is the day after xmas..so it kinda blows. though winter birthdays are a great excuse to go on vacation somewhere warm!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a coincidence! I used to have parties when I was little in the summer too! hahaa. I think my parents called them like half birthdays? Haha.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Brad!
ReplyDeleteI agree that winter birthdays, unless you are a real cold and snow freak, aren't as easy to plan.
Fortunately, I'm in the summer so have many more options.
Having said that, the most important part of the day is knowing you're loved and really special.
I'd have it be my birthday everyday if I got Lindt chocolates!! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty cake. My oldest son is a Brad too! Habby Birthday to hubby!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Brad!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm, dang it, now I want cake.
