DON'T FORGET TO ENTER MY DECEMBER GIVE AWAY!!
Link is at the right, on the top!!
I'm giving away a cookbook
and a tote bag!
Here is a recipe from the cookbook that I have tried and love!!
BUTTERMILK BROWNIES
MIX IN A BOWL:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
BRING TO A BOIL AND ADD TO FLOUR MIXTURE:
1 cup water
1 cup margarine
4 tsp. cocoa
Then add 2 slightly beaten eggs.
MIX TOGETHER AND ADD TO MIXTURE:
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Bake at 350 degrees in 12" x 18" lightly greased cookie sheet.
I did it in a 9x13" pan and it worked great.
CHOCOLATE FROSTING:
1/2 cup margarine
4 tsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Bring to a boil - remove from heat. Add enough icing sugar to spread nicely (3-4 cups). Ice while cake is warm.
MMM I love Brownies...never had them made from buttermilk though. My grandmother would have loved them too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment at my blog. I'm glad you liked the quilt with the school bus. I loved that fabric and just had to include a piece of it there.
