Do you every start a project, get almost done, then decide you don't like it?
After crocheting scarves and Hats for 3.5 months or so, I decided to switch to afghans. Found out that the shelter I was sending the scarves/hats too also helps people set up in homes once in a while. Everyone could use an afghan for the cold Manitoba winters. Finished this one:
Was disappointed that it wasn't bigger. If I do this pattern again I will make more rows before putting it together and doing the border. Had quite a bit of yarn left over - so thought I'd just crochet long strips then sew them together to make another one. Had the strips almost done - but didn't like the way they looked when I had them lying beside each other:
So I'm starting again. Crocheting Backwards? This time I'll do the afghan in one piece just have the stripes running width wise.
Also have this dark red one in the works, but need another big ball of yarn to finish it. Will get it the next time I'm at wally world.

Thanks for sharing your work Audrey!
ReplyDeleteEven if it looks small, the first afghan looks so cute! You're doing such a great job!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh my goodness, I've just seen my blog on the side where it says "blogs you must read"!! Thank you so much!!
I think the first picture is pretty! Love the color combination.
ReplyDeleteI have many projects that turn out that way! I will start knitting and finish something and love it and then start a second one and my memory of the rows is not correct!

Like the way you descibed everything.
ReplyDeleteI think you have it with the last take.
Nice work.
Nice color combo Audrey. My mom always does that -- thinks they are too small and wants them bigger. I love afgans. Super big is cozy. Love the pattern on the red on!
ReplyDeleteI think you are doing a wonderful job! I like the way you are doing it by going back and forth.
ReplyDeleteI am working on some more seashell charm bracelets.
Audrey - I love the fact that you show what you are dissatified with as well as the perfect things. I am so tired of all the perfectionalism - makes me feel shabby and clumsy. It's nice to have 'real friends'.

that happens to me often and is the reason I have so many half finished projects. I'm not working on anything in particular lately. I've been doing a lot of bouncing around between things for the last month
ReplyDeleteAudrey, its hard to make a blanket in pieces and put together, I make one piece things because when I tried to make a put together one I was not that happy with the outcome, but the colors of yours are pretty, I have been knitting for 8 years and from what I see you are doing pretty well!
