Earth Moon Beam

Earth Moon Beam is a wonderful shop that comes to Etsy from Los Angeles. It has been on Etsy since Feb. Here is the link to her personal site: http://www.earthmoonbeam.com/ And to her blog: http://earthmoonbeam.blogspot.com/ Please check them out!!

#1. How did you decide on your shop name?
The shop name came about when thinking of something that someone can remember the easiest, that related to sustainability, and gave a cosmic resonance to the sound of the shop names. I had to think of a name that would best fit all these elements and squeeze it into one versatile brand. It sprung to my attention while in a discussion about the next step to take with my art career move I had with someone. I had to decideon a name that would express my love of nature and beauty that surrounds me. I have a passion for all things Mother Earth, follow the moon cycles, and the beams of light created from all of us beings encounter and exude in our present lives. Beams of Chi.

#2. When did you start crafting?
I started crafting personally as at very early age. Was raised in an artistic environment and was nutured with the creative spirit through friends, family, and mentors. My crafting came almost naturally and was strengthen through the years of schooling in the arts.

#3. What or who inspires you?
Music is my most inspirational tool. Other artists do inspire me and like to view other peoples art galleries. I love a lot of transcendental art, and respect a lot of the NativeAmerican Art where I can relate to the scared seasons, and geometric patterns.

#4. Do you have a day job?
No, I don't have a day job. I dread to have a day job and am most happy when I am able to support myself independently. I do have side projects that carry me through the hardtimes I do run into from time to time being an indie artist. All is not lost with fully dedicating my time to my craft. You have to have an extemely strong will power, drive, and motivation to keep doing the same thing over again. My day job is my shop and my craft which is design. Whether that be tangible creations or design on the web.

#5. What is the item in your shop you enjoyed making the most and why?
I enjoy mostly making my hemp dog collars, hemp cat collars, and hemp dog leashes. It gives the most freedom to my client so I can work with them one on one to create a one of a kind design. The styles offered for the collars and leads are fun to make and gives me a sense of accomplishment. I like the fact that I am giving something more sustainable then just your average nylon collar. My collars and leads really reflect that of the owner and the true animals spirit.

Audrey's Accolades:
What an interesting shop!! I've always admired people who can make something using macrame. I can tie knots - but not make them look like this!! Love this ankle bracelet.

Each bracelet is hand crafted with Embroidery Cotton material that is hand loomed in the traditional way. The result is a uniquely colorful product that is also very durable. All items come in a variety of colors.
