1) I love to enter give aways and have been trying to win a necklace on the Baroness Bijoutery Blog for quite a while. Guess What! Just before Christmas I got an email informing me that I had won her latest give away. This is the necklace - isn't it beautiful?


I was so excited. Green is one of my favorite colors & I love butterflies! She has a wonderful SHOP with truly beautiful jewelry. It's a MUST SEE shop!

4) Have you ever tried to make a weekly meal plan? I've tried but after day 2 I'm off the plan. I really hate trying to figure out what to make each day. Weekend when Son #1 is home are the easiest for me because I usually cook food that will have left overs he can take back with him on Sunday. I hadn't realized that during the week I wasn't cooking as much until Son #2 complained that I only cooked when Son #1 was home. OOOPS :o!! So now I'm trying to cook a larger meal a couple of times a week, but I hate to think of what to make and "the men" are no help. Does anyone know of a blog/site that will tell me what to cook?

5)During the 2 weeks we had off for Christmas we had some pretty good temps for the end of December. Christmas Day we had about 12-14 inches of snow. So hubby put the tracks on his ATV and Son #1 got out his snow shoes!


Son #1 walked 4 miles to town the day we went to visit my Grandma. Luckily it was with wind :)

6) I was going to keep it to 5 separate items, but I found this great blog that is having a give away of sorts. If you have an Etsy Shop and need a new banner or two - check out this blog. Happy New Year Glitter Pictures

I can't believe how much my Blog has changed since I started it. Can you believe it's been over a year? I can't. Time has really flown by, and blogging has been so much fun!! :) There are so many wonderful people I "met" in 2009 through blogging, I hope to meet many more in 2010!

Last year I had decided to feature as many shops as possible on the blog. It was amazing how many shops were looking for some free advertising. This year (after Jan.) I'm going to focus on new shops or shops with under 5 sales. If you have a shop that falls into this category (or know of one) and would like a feature - leave a comment on this post or convo me through my Etsy Shop. Maybe I'll have to do the features on Fridays. I'll call it "Feature Friday" - that would work! If there are enough shops I'll do 2 features/wk. What other day would work? Maybe Tuesday - but what would I call it? Tuesday Toots? Maybe not :)

There are times when I have some small things to post, you know what I mean - it just doesn't fit in any where, and isn't enough to do a whole post. So I'm going to start "Mish Mash Monday". There will be a MckLinky at the end of each post for anyone who would like to join me! It would be great if by the end of 2010 there where a bunch of blogs that were doing their version of "MMM".

There are many great Give Aways planned for my Give Away Blog! Everything from a Sundial Ring, to candles, scented bears, soaps, coffee, tea, craft supplies, jewelry etc. I'm always looking for shops that would like to have a Give Away - so if you are interested please email me! If you would like some help with hosting your own Give Away on your blog - I'll gladly do that too! I've posted some tips, ideas etc on How to Have a Successful Give Away on the blog. If you have suggestions or questions just post them there!

I found this wonderful site that supports "Mom Made" items!! You can add your shop quickly and easily, see where everyone is from and check out some of the wonderful shops/items that are made by mom's just like you!

What a Week!

Oh my! It has been a very busy week for me. I'm trying to get lots of ornaments and winter items painted for the Christmas Open House. Monday was paperwork day. Tuesday was dedicated to a little blogging and a lot of laundry. Wednesday afternoons I work in our Craft & Gift Shop, but I did manage to get supper into the crock pot in the morning and paint a little. Thursday I needed to post a give away on my other blog and then spend 2.5 hours promoting that one, and one that I posted on Tuesday. Plus some painting & cleaning. Friday I had a one hour massage right after my morning bus run. Now that is the way to start the day!! After the massage I had to run errands, get groceries for the weekend, managed to make it home for hunch. Which left me 2.5 hours to do some laundry, tidy up, paint? (not this time) and check emails.


Today is Saturday apparently. We will be going to the neighboring city to check out some thinkgs & we would like to do some Christmas shopping for the boys. Might be back by lunch. Hey!! If today is Saturday - that means that tomorrow is SUNDAY!! A day of rest! That also means I don't have to do anything - right? I wish!! Maybe I'll have a nap during the NASCAR race LOL! or I'll probably end up painting some more items for my Etsy shop. No rest for the weary!

The pictures I've placed here are of some new ornaments I've painted. They will be in my shop for the Christmas Open House. Good Day at the Post Office!!

It was a wonderful Monday at the Post Office! LOL
But First!

Yesterday morning while blog hopping, I found this wonderful new blog through the Etsy forums. Tutuki Friends has just started blogging. So far Stacey has 2 posts showing some of her really cute Felted items. I just don't understand felting, I think it's one of those crafts I'll have to see someone do to understand how it works. But Stacey has the cutest felted items for fall! You can find her shop HERE! Please stop by and take a look, here are my two favorites!


I purchased these really cute angel earrings from Rocky Mt. Beader a wonderful shop on Etsy! Yvette has them in many colors and combination's. They look amazing!


Ok - I happened to win another Give Away. This one was on The Rikrak Studio Blog. Another amazing blog with quite a few give aways! With this give away I received a $30 Gift Certificated and had 15 shops to choose from where I could use the G.C.!! That was a really hard decision, all the shops where wonderful. But I happen to be addicted to bags, so I used the G.C. at The Empty Nest! You really need to check out this amazing shop! Janet has some of the most wonderful upcycled items, scarves, bags, prints and much more. I had actually found this shop before the give away through Janet's amazing BLOG (it's in my Blogs You Must Read list!) This is what I picked from her shop as my prize:

I absolutely LOVE this bag!! It's so big, roomy and soft! When I opened the package, Janet has also sent 2 business cards, and a fridge magnet!! I love Magnets! Poor hubby thinks the fridge is getting buried. Oh well.
I actually had to laugh about the magnet, because I'd received 3 packages from Vista Print yesterday morning too. In the packages were my new business cards, fridge magnets, and a tote bag. The magnets and tote bag were free, only paid shipping. The business cards are free if you only print on one side, but it looked a bit crowded so I did both sides, one side being gray, and paid $13.23 (Canadian) plus shipping. I'm very happy with them, they look amazing! What do you think?

Look What I've Been Up To!!

Ok - I think 150 pounds of apples might be too much for me!! LOL To late now. I managed to make 17 quart jars of apple sauce on Tuesday, used 30 pound of the apples. It might sound like a lot of work, but I have this handy dandy contraption that takes a lot of the work out of making sauce. Just boil the apples till they are soft (cores, peel, stems included)- put it all through the Victorio Strainer, gunk out one end, sauce out the other! Amazing!!


Will be making apples sauce from another 60 pounds, the rest will become cut up apples for the freezer, muffins and pies. Whew!!

Everyone knows I love to enter give aways - I won another one. These amazing cards are from Devyn Larson Designs. They are more beautiful in real! I love the colors and designs, it's going to be hard to part with them!


I entered a give away to win some bookmarks and a book weight. Didn't win - so I bought some!! (there are two corner markers) I also ordered this cute little wallet that is the perfect size for my business cards. Rhonda's shop is Lil' Bit Sassy. She was so sweet - made the bookmarks and book weight in fabric that I got to pick from her amazing stash! You should see all the choices - it's AMAZING!!



Friday morning as I was getting the bus ready for the run (cleaning the very dusty windows) Logan came running out - the neighbor called. Our dog and her dog had 4 raccoons trapped up on one of the hydro poles on our driveway. So off we go with the camera!! Aren't they cute?




We managed to get Rascal back to the yard and locked her up till I got home later. The neighbor took her dog home too. The raccoons were gone by the time I got home 2.5 hours later.

A Few Reminders

Yesterday I purchased 150 pounds of apples to make apple sauce and apple pies. Should keep me busy for the next while! Today I'll be making apple sauce from 30 pounds of apples, the rest will wait till the weekend, they were just picked on Sunday and are still a bit green. So todays post is a quick on with some reminders of great things happening on the internet!!
