New Items in My Shop

I've added some Christmas/Winter items to my shop.  I know - everyone is waiting for spring :)  But since my shop is The Christmas Corner, it felt a little weird just having spring/summer items in it.

So I've added some snowman coasters:

And also started making gift tags:

Taking Photo's is not my strong suit as you can tell, really need to work on that.

I have some more ideas for Ornaments, but since I paint those it takes more time.

Are you creating anything new?

Twitter Tree Tuesday!

My friend Jacki over at Christie Cottage came up with an ingenious idea for promoting items in your shops.
The Twitter Tree will be hosted by a different shop each business day.

Monday: Christie Cottage
Tuesday: Audrey's Country Crafts
Wednesday: Eluna Jewelry
Thursday: I Wish I May, I Wish I Might
Friday: Sweetybird09

Here are the instructions:
You tweet the item(s) for me and all the posts above yours, along with your twitter account so we can follow you, and list 1-3 items (clickable links) from any of your online shops that you would like for all those posting here to tweet for you. ( No "mature" items, please). Be sure the item is twitter ready. (See above) Check back throughout the day and tweet all the new items posted from other online shops. Etsy, ArtFire, Zibbet, Bonanzle, ebay, your own website, etc..

Please add this tag to your tweets. " #BlueBird"
This way we can Retweet later in the day, simply by searching the tag.

Please  add a description of your item, not just the link.
Thanks!

By reaching out thru blogger and blog follower's twitter accounts, we will reach a new audience of viewers and hopefully land some sales. After all, we all have our online shops to make money.

Here are my 3 items for the day:

Muffin Pan Meat Loaf

FIRST - Hubby and I are going away for a few days :) Leaving tomorrow and getting back on Monday. Going to Fargo ND, to do some shopping and bonding - lol.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend too.

This recipe was found on someones blog, but for the life of me - I can not remember which one! I should have bookmarked it. Tried the recipe for supper a while back but will have to do it again soon. We are a big meat loaf loving family and these were super easy to make.

Muffin Pan Meatloaf

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 egg
1 - 8 oz can tomato sauce
1 cup Stove Top Stuffing (straight out of box)

Sauce Ingredients:
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. vinegar

Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl combine the ground beef, egg, tomato sauce, and stove top. Roll into even balls and place into muffin pans. In a small bowl combine ketchup, brown sugar, and vinegar. Spoon the sauce over the meatloaf. Place in oven and cook for 25 min. Feeds a family of 4.

Feature - Amazing Art on Copper

When it comes to Art - usually I don't like abstract. But I found this shop on Etsy probably almost a year ago and LOVE to go there every now and then to see what is new. Atlanta Copperworks Studio has beautiful art done on Copper!! If you have time - watch this video about how she got started and how it all works - it's really cool!!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPd79oKJ-h4

*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.
I'm from Atlanta, Georgia. I've lived here most of my life but have bounced around a little. I always seem to find my way back because my family's here.

*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business?
I love marketing and was looking for a business to start. Although I did go to art school in London, England, my major is in Small Business and Entrepreneurship. I had seen alot of artists selling on ebay and knew I could be successful there. Ebay was responsible for most of my national and international sales and then I found Etsy a few years later. At first, I was going to call my shop "Copperworks Studio" but there already was one so I just put the "Atlanta" with it to form "Atlanta Copperworks Studio".

*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?
"Wow".,
"I've never seen anything like this before",
"This looks different every time I see it",
"I know the perfect place for this",
"I have to tell everyone about this"

*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
I don't know that I really have a supply addiction, but I do have a supply fear. Once my copper art started selling, the copper I use was discontinued at alot of the big hardware stores. Although now I special order it, there was a time when I was really scared. It's crazy to have somethng that is selling well and then you can't find your materials anymore. So, I once found about 20 rolls of copper marked WAY down. I drove nearly two hours across town to buy up as much of it as I could. Everyone was asking me what the heck I was buying so much copper for. I'm sure I looked pretty strange with a whole shopping cart full of copper.

*What do you do when you’re not being an artist? What activities do you enjoy?
I love marketing. It seems I"m always trying to learn something new or put a new twist on the way I market. I also love entering contests and win pretty often on local radio contests. I've been doing it since college--so, for about 20 years. I'm real "lucky" but it's not really luck, it's persistence. I sometimes have three radio contests going at one time. I also love playing blackjack and texas hold 'em. But when I'm not feeling competitive I also enjoy going to concerts and watching movies.

*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
That's really hard to say because I enjoy something about each one of them. I guess when I am coming up with a new series or style that I've never done before that can be exciting.

*If you could give a piece of advice to a new shop - what would it be?
Wow, I have so much advice to give. I'm actually putting together a course on marketing your art online. But, if I had to give a few pointers I would say to really treat your shop like a job. Many artists don't realize the sheer volume you have to create on a daily basis. If you want to be successful the best way is to create several pieces a week or even a day. The other thing I can't stress enough is you must be professional. Make your listings look like you put some effort into them. Believe me, it pays off.

*Are there other places on the net we can find you?
Sure.
